"Mom" is the reason Viphalay exists, we love her cooking. Although you're more likely to see her at the front of house these days, rather than hiding in the kitchen, she was Viphalay's original head chef.

Growing up we quickly learned the role food plays in Lao and Thai culture. Whether we were just stopping by to say, "Hi," or were participating in a religious ceremony, an incredible feast always seemed to be present. There is no way you could walk into a Laotian or Thai household and not be offered something (delicious) to eat.

We created Viphalay with the hope of sharing the wonderful culture we grew up with, one that is centred around incredible food.
